About the Club

 Mission Statement:
The mission of the Stoughton Wrestling Club is to host USA Wrestling Tournaments, cooperate with USA Wrestling in sponsoring exchange teams (within the US and Foreign), provide assistance for local wrestlers participating in Freestyle, Greco, and Folkstyle wrestling, locally, nationally, and abroad, and support and promote wrestling in the community.

Stoughton Wrestling has a strong tradition (established in 1955), beginning with the Youth Program, which provides a unique inexpensive opportunity for boys and girls to improve their physical strength and conditioning, learn how to set personal goals, and what it takes to reach those goals.  The youth program feeds directly into the High School program, which has been the runner-up at the WIAA Team State competition for the past 2 years, and crowned its 45th and 46th State Champion this year.  Historically, the program has:
7 WIAA State Team Championships
8 WIAA State Team Runner-up Finishes
29 WIAA Sectional Team Championships
38 WIAA Regional Team Championships
36 Badger Conference Team Championships
Stoughton Wrestling also proudly claims 2 Olympians (Russ Hellickson-Silver Medalist (1976), Andy Rein-Silver Medalist (1984)), 9 Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame Members, 3 recipients of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Lifetime Service Award, and a National Wrestling Hall of Fame Member.
